Qualification summary

WAMAS suggest that, at the moment, the most suitable qualification is:

WAMITAB Level 2 Certificate for Sustainable Waste Management Operative (QCF 501/1855/9)

To achieve this qualification learners must complete 10 units - (minimum credit 33) all of the units in Group A (the mandatory group - consisting of 24 credits) and then one unit from Group B and then any three units from the remaining Groups ensuring that at least one of the Units is at Level 2 and in doing so complying with any restrictions associated with groups C, D and E should you choose any units from these groups to count towards your optional total.

Credit Value required: Minimum 33

Below is a list of some of the units in this award, we have not included them all, just the ones that we think will be the most appropriate. The final choice of units will be agreed between the learner and assessor

A - Mandatory Group (Credit value 24)

Learners must complete all of the units in this group.

• Work with others to improve customer service
• Conforming to efficient working practices in the workplace
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for waste management activities
• Working with other people
• Contribute to the sustainability, maintenance and preservation of the environment
• Comply with emergency procedures on waste management facilities
• Manual collection of waste

B - Optional Units

Learners must complete one unit from this group. Credit Value required: Minimum 3.

D - Optional Units

Only one of these units can be selected. Credit Value required: Minimum 3

• Loading a waste transport vehicle

F - Open Optional Units

If no units have been selected from Group B, then the learner needs to complete three units from this group.
Credit Value required: Minimum 4.

• Support customer service improvements
• Support safety around waste collection vehicles
• Contribute to the provision of customer service in a waste environment
