Level 2 and Level 3 Sustainable Resource Management Apprenticeship

The Apprenticeship in Sustainable Resource Management combines on and off the job training that will enable an apprentice to operate appropriately and in accordance with the requirements of their employer and the needs of the business.

Who is it for?

The Apprenticeship Framework is designed to deliver skills training to anyone in work both existing employees who do not have vocational qualifications and young people who are new to the Resource Management Industry. It is suitable for a wide range of occupations at both operative and supervisor levels such as:

  • Recycling/Waste Collection;
  • Weighbridge;
  • Waste Site Activities – Landfill, Transfer Station;
  • Recycling Activities – Material Recycling Facility, Household Recycling Centres, Composting Facility.

What will I Gain?

On successful completion you will receive two Wamitab qualifications at either Level 2 or Level 3, along with your portfolio which is a record of your achievement to keep as a reference.

How does it work?

The apprenticeship framework comprises five elements as follows:

  • Vocational Qualification comprising of mandatory and optional competence units at Level 2 or Level 3;
  • Technical Qualification providing the knowledge element at Level 2 or Level 3;
  • Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS);
  • Employment Rights & Responsibilities (ERR);
  • Functional Skills in English and Mathematics (we would expect candidates to have already obtained these qualifications or equivalent).

An approved Wamas Assessor will be assigned to you following the registration process who will offer all the support and guidance to assess you through the qualification and training sessions.

You will be required to build a portfolio of evidence for the Level 2 and Level 3 part of the programme which will be assessed against the set Wamitab standard. Attendance of classroom based sessions are undertaken to cover technical elements with supporting workbooks.

The award is delivered over a minimum of 12 months although this is dependent on the individual.
