WAMAS is Outstanding! - Ofsted Inspection
In common with all schools, colleges and training providers who access Skills Funding Agency funds, WAMAS was inspected by Ofsted in December 2010. This involved reviewing all of WAMAS's practices and talking to a large number of employers and employees who have undertaken qualifications. The findings of the Inspectors were that WAMAS is a Grade 1 Outstanding provider.

Testimonials from Satisfied Employers
"The opportunity for our refuse crews to gain a national qualification in waste was an exciting prospect for both the City Council and the crews. It's been a complete success and has stimulated further interest in training and development. The training was carried out without any disruption to the service or to the working days of the crews and this was vital in such a large and complex city as Cambridge."
Ray Skipp. Waste Services Manager, Cambridge City Council?
"One of the aims in our Business plan is to get all staff trained to NVQ level 2 or equivalent and as part of this process WAMAS have been working closely with the Waste Department to achieve this. Their team carried out the assessments efficiently with the minimum of disruption to the services and were well received by the employees in the department who are now fully qualified"
Maurice Lidster Safety & Development Officer Operational Services Division Torbay Borough Council?
"I would also like to give a massive thanks to Barry the assessor who has almost become part of our team. He has worked extremely hard in partnership with our operational supervisors and ensured that the needs of the service have always been paramount when working with the crews and has had many an early morning start. Most importantly Barry in partnership with the supervisors has ensured that any staff with limited reading and writing skills have had their dignity maintained, by assisting them with form filling etc in a confidential manner. Barry has also been able to successfully negotiate the many different personalities and needs of our staff to ensure that everybody felt comfortable and confident during the assessments."
